JUNE 15 – JACK DE KAYZER

Acclaimed guitarist, singer, song writer, band leader and producer, Jack de Keyzer rarely sits still. For 46 years or roughly a couple million miles, de Keyzer has been hitting the road, air and studio to bring his brand of guitar driven blues around the globe.  With 12 records, 1 DVD, 2 Junos and 7 Maple Blues Awards, de Keyzer delivers the goods wherever, whenever he performs. Playing over 100 shows a year, de Keyzer’s music is steeped in Chicago blues, London England’s (de Keyzer’s birth place) blues rock, Detroit’s Motown, Muscle Shoals deep soul, Memphis’  rock and roll, and Philadelphia’s funky soul jazz .  De Keyzer knows firsthand as he has played with many first-generation pioneers of these sounds and styles, Bo Diddley, Otis Rush, Etta James, King Biscuit Boy and Ronnie Hawkins to name a few.  His latest recording TRIBUTE (2020) features twelve rousing new original blues, rock and soul songs and pays tribute to the great blues and rock guitar masters, singers and song writers de Keyzer has been influenced and inspired by through the years.  A tour de force by an artist at his peak powers.

JUNE 29 -Shipyard Kitchen Party

With Americana heart and East Coast soul, Shipyard Kitchen Party blends strong storytelling, vocal harmony and love of entertaining into a fresh take on the singer-songwriter genre. They’re Gordon Lightfoot having a dram too many with Great Big Sea; Stan Rogers crossed with “Who’s Line it Anyway.” With traditional instrumentation, catchy pop hooks and sly humour, they get audiences stomping their feet, laughing and sometimes even shedding a tear.


Formed in 2017, while working in the Collingwood Improv Artists Comedy Troupe. Sacha Law, Jason Murphy and John Eaton united in a vision of a forming a band that combines strong storytelling, vocal harmony, diverse musical influences and a love of entertaining into a fresh take on the singer-songwriter genre.


Recorded in concert at the Collingwood Legion, Shipyard Kitchen Party’s Live in Collingwood album was released in 2019. In 2020, they released the single ”Tom Thomson’s Ghost” and last May they put out the single and video “Hole in the Sun”. There are two more singles from their forthcoming debut studio album, Tom Thomson’s Wake: The Album set for release in August 2022.

JULY 13 – SheWolves of London

What do you get when three powerhouse female vocalists come together in one voice? The SheWolves of London features Cheryl Lescom, Sarah Smith and Chuckee Zehr, along with the rhythm section of Dale Anne Brendon and Laurie McColeman, presenting beautiful original songs and scorching covers that will have you dancing and singing in your seat.
This kick ass presentation of rock n’ roll, blues and gospel will leave you smiling and humming all the way home!

JULY 27 – Carol Welsman

Internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist/pianist Carol Welsman is a 6-time Juno Award Nominee.  She is the granddaughter of Frank Welsman, founder and first conductor of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

 

Carol exudes warmth and dynamism through her music, which captivates audiences around the world. She is excited to have a new album entitled “14”, her fourteenth recording, which will be released Sept. 9th on Justin Time Records.

 

Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Italian, Carol is also a composer, and her songs have been recorded by Celine Dion and Ray Charles.

AUG 10 – The Mike McCarthy Band

Mike and Erica McCarthy are “The Mike McCarthy Band”, and have been performing together for 30 years. Mike was born and raised in Toronto and Erica was born and raised in Montreal, they have been a part of the Georgian Triangle music scene since 1993. The band’s secret weapon, and the force that pulls all of its diverse influences together, is the voice of Mike McCarthy, an expressive instrument brimming with gritty soul combined with the sweet harmonies of Erica Prinn-McCarthy. Their blend of southern rock, blues, folk and soul make them hard to pigeonhole, but easily accessible to anyone who loves good music. Add Terry Martell (drums), Len Fligg (bass), Gabor Szepesi (keys), Tony Moretta (lead guitar), and you have all the ingredients that makes fire burn.
