What: An all ages/ family friendly,  FREE and accessible music series

When: 6 – 8pm every second Wednesday from June 21 through to August 16, 2023

Where: The Station Park, Collingwood Museum, 45 St. Paul Street, Collingwood ON

Cost: FREE and accessible! No admission is charged. Donations are encouraged

What to bring: Please bring your lawn chair or camping chair to sit on at the concerts

The Muddy York Blues Machine is a “new blues” band based in Toronto, Canada. With diverse musical backgrounds and influences, the Machine’s music is emotionally powerful, well performed, and always played with passion. From the muddy streets of old Toronto to the sky-scraping metropolis it has become, long live the blues!
 
The Muddy York Blues Machine are: Veronica McNamee (lead vocals), Kirk Reed (guitar/backup vocals), Kevin Ellis (bass/backup vocals), Kevin Costa (drums), Douglas Nowlan (keys).

One of the most exciting bands around, the Toronto All-Star Big Band revives the spirit style and sound of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s – that golden age of the big bands.
 
Young musicians aged 15-22 to realize their artistic potential through education and performance, seeking the highest level of achievement within a challenging nurturing and collaborative environment.

Michel Trio - Afro-Latin Jazz Pop Fusion

Well-renowned and sought after Mexican/Canadian drummer, percussionist, Michel DeQuevedo has played and/or recorded with some of the best artists in Mexico and Canada, including Multi-Grammy award winner Natalia Lafourcade, Julieta Venegas, and Molotov, and in Canada, Award winning band Sultans of String, Juno Award Winner Walk off the Earth, Richard Underhill (The Shuffle Demons), Quique Escamilla, The Eric St-Laurent Trio, Leroy Emmanuel, The LMT Connection, to name a few.

Now, Michel is creating his own Afro-Latin Jazz/Pop arrangements, bringing infectious rhythms, with beautiful melodies and vocals.

Michel’s latest project involves his original music and old classic Latin and pop-rock songs. The fusion keeps the audiences engaged, appealing to people from diverse cultural backgrounds, bringing them to dance and sing together, as one.

They deliver a highly entertaining performance that engages the audience every time they hit the stage. Their strong vocals, a tight rhythm section and sizzling horns are guaranteed to pull you out of your seat and onto the dance floor the moment we start playing the hits of Motown artists, Stevie Wonder, Huey Lewis, Van Morrison, Earth Wind & Fire, Blues Brothers, Doobie Brothers…

The Fraser Melvin Band plays high energy Blues, Roots, and R&B that will get you moving and shaking. From their countryfied covers of Jimi Hendrix, to their funk interpretations of Bob Dylan, to their own soulful originals, the FMB draws on a wide variety of influences throughout their set. With a powerful lead singer who doubles as guitar slinger, a honkin’ sax man, and a rhythm section that grooves, the exciting and entertaining Fraser Melvin Band will get you out of your seat, shaking a hip, and singing along.

Formed in 2008 by accomplished frontman Fraser Melvin (Guitar & Vocals) and rounded out with Alex Furlott (Bass), Jonathan Hyde (Drums), and Andrew Moljgun (Saxes & Tambourine), this tight group quickly earned its popularity with crowds across Ontario and Quebec with their energetic live performances and musicianship displayed through a diversified repertoire of tunes.
